Some time ago I wanted to organise an exhibition of young artists inspired by Zdzisław Beksiński’s works. At that time the project didn’t work out. However, the idea was taken by the director of the Master’s museum in Częstochowa, Mr Czesław Tarczyński, who opened a competition entitled “Workshop and imagination. Inspiration with the works of Zdzisław Beksiński”. He invited to it all the fans feeling they were influenced by the Master. The participants were divided into two categories: pupils attending secondary schools of fine arts and students of fine arts. The competition was completed on 18th February 2015, just after Mr Tarczyński had left his post, by the new director of the Municipal Art Gallery in Częstochowa, Ms Anna Paleczek-Szumlas. In the competition took part 89 authors, who presented 164 works. The jury qualified 45 works by 32 authors. The first award went to Piotr Siudeja, a student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź for the painting entitled “Eclipse II” .

Today I would like to introduce 20 of these works in Other Artists Gallery. Let me highlight that I have made an arbitrary choice, without assessing the workshop or imagination of the presented paintings and photographs. I leave this task to the guests of my gallery, inviting them to express opinions on Forum or in the Guest Book.
