Today I am publishing a number of humorous photographs, showing Beksiński’s „silly faces”, taken when he was still a young man. The artist was not eager to boast about them, as he considered the whole thing utter tomfoolery. Besides, he claimed that Witkacy had done it better. However, I am publishing these photos to show that Beksiński, contrary to his art, was a man full of humour. I am also supplementing this series with several photographs that I took myself during different meetings with Beksiński. These include snaps from our common trip to Sanok, to the Historical Museum, in which my wife and I wanted to see Beksiński’s works in his company.
